HOW WE WORK

Our design process begins with the very first call.

  • We take the time to get to know our clients from the very moment we say “hello”! Our step-by-step design process begins with a 15-minute discovery call to get an overall, birds-eye-view of the project scope and to determine if we are the best fit for you.

  • This is where we get to know each other!

I’ll visit your space to get a full picture of your project and ask questions to get a sense of who you are, what your needs are and will pinpoint areas that need design attention. This is the time where you will share everything there is to know about your project goals and wishes. Consults typically take 1-2 hours depending on the scale of the project and are billed hourly at $145/hr.

  • This is where we get all of the boring stuff out of the way. Once we complete your consultation, we'll send a custom-crafted outline of your project that will include the scope, timeline, budget, and any special requests we discussed during our consultation. Once you agree to the proposal, we will move forward with the exciting part - design development.

  • Time to get excited! This is where the fun starts to happen.

We will compile inspiration images you have shared with us along with our own research and development, and will present a design direction that we believe is most suitable for your project scope. Once the concept is approved, we’ll move forward to the design phase.

The design phase is typically the longest and most thorough part of our process. During this time you may not hear from us much, but that’s because we are working away on sourcing products & materials for your project. Sometimes this includes contacting vendors for material samples and acquiring pricing which can take several business days per item. We are pricing everything as we design to ensure that any design solutions we propose are in line with your budget. If this is a renovation or new build, it may involve several back-and-forth meetings over space planning and custom drawings. Please be patient with us during this time and know that we are pulling all the pieces together for a thorough design solution.

For larger projects including renovations, the design phase is divided into two sections: a) Materials & Finishes and b) Furnishings. For smaller projects, furnishings and materials are presented at once.

  • There is typically a minimum of two presentations during the design development phase. The first to review concepts and the second to review the overall design vision.

Renovation and new build projects include additional presentations to review materials, drawings & application.

We highly encourage feedback and any important comments or questions to be addressed during this time. This is the time to make adjustments before we finalize and move forward with implementation.

  • The final, most important step in our process is placing orders, arranging for delivery and finally installing everything once it has been received and inspected. This is the fun part, but also requires a lot of time and muscle. It’s all worth it in the end!

“I hired Giana to help me with a full bathroom renovation and could not be happier with how it has turned out. When I brought her on, I thought I knew essentially what I wanted, but Giana's vision and mastery at layering textures took the room to an entirely new level. It's beautiful but also livable, warm, and feels like a natural extension of the rest of my home. All my friends want to know how I did it... the secret was Giana!”
